The authors purpose is what the author wants the reader to understand. That’s the purpose why the author wrote what he/she wrote. I hope that makes sense!!
The purpose is to help the reader understand what message the author is trying to put out there and or if the author is writing something meaningful to them they want the reader to understand their point of view in the story.
