How many electrons would the element calcium need to be electrically neutral?

Hello LinkeyGurl, usually atom will be in neutral state. if so, then equal number of electrons have to be in the atom. So 20 electrons have to be there.

A neutral atom of calcium has 20 electrons. This is denoted as Ca. A stable atom of calcium has 18 electrons, denoted as Ca2+, with the 2+ in the exponent place.
