Simplify 6-2(x-4)=22

Assuming there 6-2 isn't in brackets, otherwise, it would be a tad more complex:

6 -2(x-4) = 22
6 -2x + 8 = 22
14 - 2x = 22
-2x = 8
-x = 4
x = -4
