Anaerobic respiration is the absence of oxygen thus does not produce Adenosine Triphosphate which is the unit of intracellular exchange of energy. In yeast it produces alcohol while lactic acid in human muscles. Anaerobic is successful as some organisms do not require much energy like others and if aerobic respiration is impossible for them.
