Given (3, 1) and (x, -6)
m = [tex] \frac{1-(-6)}{x-3} [/tex] = [tex] \frac{7}{x-3} [/tex]

Since it is given that m = [tex] \frac{7}{10} [/tex]
[tex] \frac{7}{x-3} [/tex] = [tex] \frac{7}{10} [/tex]

cross mulitply
7(x-3) = 7 x 9
7x - 21 = 63
7x = 84
x = 12
